2020 Vintage:
A welcomed rainfall just before bloom set the stage for excellent fruit set for a small 2020 crop. Strong canopy growth offered the fruit protection from the short spells of summer heat as the season progressed toward an early and brief harvest. All fruit was harvested by hand in just under two weeks, commencing August 31st, coincidentally Niebaum’s birthday, and concluding on September 10th..
Winemaker’s Tasting Notes:
-
- The 2020 Pennino Zinfandel is a luxurious wine from start to finish.
- The nose is focused with aromas of concentrated deep black fruits and a hint of clove.
- Rich and captivating, the wine envelops the palate with ripe blackberry and black cherry fruit.
- Generous, velvety tannins linger through the finish.
