Mariflor Cabernet Franc

2020 Vintage:

Jeb Dunnuck – 94 Points

All varietal from vines planted in 2007, the 2020 Mariflor Cabernet Franc was vinified in a mix of concrete tanks and new oak, with the élevage spanning 18 months in French oak. More red fruits, dried herbs, lead pencil, iron, and smoked tobacco emerge from the glass of this beautifully layered, textured Mendoza Cabernet Franc. Medium to full-bodied, with nicely integrated oak, ripe tannins, and a great finish, this impeccably made, impressive red will drink well for a decade. MATURITY 2023 – 2033

Tasting Notes:

One of the last born of the Mariflor range. Beautiful, fairly deep colour with purple highlights. Characterised by aromatic finesse, fresh red fruit aromas and floral nuances. The same can be said for the palate: the perfect combination of finesse and elegance, balance, harmony and mouthfilling texture, with a wonderful freshness. Cabernet Franc has a great future in Argentina. While already delicious now, it is worth ageing another five to ten years, if not longer. – Michel Rolland
