2022 Vintage Notes:
The fall season began with promising rainfall, yet the 2022 vintage ultimately turned out to be drier than expected. Nearly 80% of the year’s precipitation fell before December. Fortu- nately, the beneficial rains in the fall of 2021, combined with warm temperatures at the end of March, contributed to robust nutrient storage and healthy initial growth of the canopy. This early development necessitated more extensive and careful canopy management, but ultimately required minimal crop adjustments as the canopies supported the crop into full and balanced ripeness. The optimal soil moisture at harvest contributed to ideal berry size in the Cabernet Sauvignon blocks, showcasing the fine-grained, polished tannins that are characteristic of the Rutherford appellation. Harvest for Inglenook Cabernet Sauvignon began in our Chateau blocks on September 1st and concluded at the end of September with the picking of the Red Barn blocks.
Winemaker’s Tasting Notes:
The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon bursts with aromas of black currant and forest berries, beautifully complemented by hints of vanilla extract and baking spices. On the palate, vibrant red fruit notes shine through, accompanied by soft notes of cedar wood. The wine features bright acidity that enhances its freshness, leading to a long finish where the balanced tannins and acidity harmonize perfectly.

Inglenook 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley California
Francis Ford Coppola purchased parts of the historic Inglenook Estate in 1975, the remaining portions of the property in 1995, and acquired the right to use the name Inglenook in 2011. Today this exceptional wine is made from organically grown grapes grown on the Coppola family estate. It is 95 percent Cabernet Sauvignon with the addition of Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. It is ruby garnet in color with aromas of black raspberry, black plum, coffee, forest floor, and cigar box. It has flavors of ripe red and black fruits with a touch of cedar shavings and pencil lead in the post palate. The tannins are silky smooth and the finish just keeps going.
