Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Garenne

Description

Joseph Drouhin
Puligny-Montrachet
Clos de la Garenne
Premier Cru

DESCRIPTION:

    • This great Premier Cru is located above “Les Folatières”.
    • Owing to its relatively high position on the slope and the hard, stony component of its soil, it is one of the most interesting Premier Crus of the Côte de Beaune.Add product gallery images
    • The total production of this vineyard is very small, the vineyard being only 1.5 hectare (3.75 acres).
    • Joseph Drouhin does not own any vineyards in this climat but buys grapes from vignerons with whom they have long standing relationships.

GRAPE VARIETY:

    • 100% Chardonnay

FOOD PAIRINGS:

Like all great white wines, Puligny-Montrachet Clos de la Garenne deserves to accompany the best fish and shellfish dishes, such as lobster or crabmeat in a light wine sauce, salmon, trout or Dover sole simply grilled or poached. The wine should be served no colder than 13°C (57°F).

TASTING NOTES:

“Great finesse and breed in this wine. The color, barely golden, is brilliant. On the nose, refined aromas of hawthorn, fresh almond and apricot, evolving towards candied fruit, hazelnut and grilled dried fruit. On the palate, a beautiful structure harmonizing nicely with fresh and velvety sensations. Long aftertaste, especially in the flavors.” – Véronique Boss-Drouhin
