Cote de Beaune
DESCRIPTION:
-
- The appellation “Cote de Beaune” is exclusively given to the wines produced in the Beaune area.
- They have a distinguished and specific character due to the soil and exposure of the vineyards.
- It also happens fairly often that the cuvées of young vines of Clos des Mouches are declassified to Cote de Beaune.
- As everywhere in the Cote d’or, Pinot Noir is the only grape variety used in this appellation.
- The soil, hard and chalky, is not very deep. The slope can be steep and the exposure is south/southeast.
GRAPE VARIETY:
-
- 100% Pinot Noir
FOOD PAIRINGS:
Serve with roasted poultry, grilled meats and soft cheeses, such as Reblochon or Brie.
TASTING NOTES:
“A true delight and a great harmony! A beautiful purple color. On the nose, delicate and fruity aromas such as strawberry and red currant. On the palate, the tannins are refined and lend a nice roundness to the body. Elegant aftertaste”. – Véronique Drouhin-Boss
