Macon-Villages
-
- Macon is a large area located in the Southern part of Burgundy, next to Pouilly-Fuissé.
- The clay and limestone soil of the Jurassic era found in this region is well suited for the Chardonnay grape variety.
- The grape juice ferments in stainless-steel fermenters at a rather low temperature.
- Bottling is done early in the spring following the harvest.
GRAPE VARIETY:
-
- 100% Chardonnay
2024 VINTAGE:
-
- Challenging weather conditions left their marks on 2024 harvest, yet thanks to meticulous grape sorting and precise vinification, we achieved wines of remarkable quality, though in limited quantities.
- The extended sunshine through mid-September gave the white wines a beautiful balance, revealing aromas of fresh fruit and citrus, delicately mingled with hints of almond and white blossom.
- Elegant and refined, they offer both freshness and purity on the palate.
FOOD PAIRINGS:
-
- It is a perfect accompaniment to full-flavored fish dishes and charcuterie.
- Or try it alone as an aperitif.
- As with other white wines, Macon-Villages should be served chilled but not cold.
- It is meant to be enjoyed when young, the wine being at its best after one or two years of aging.
TASTING NOTES:
“The color of the wine is bright and limpid. The nose is floral and fruity. Very straightforward and direct on the palate, as if biting into a grape. Fresh and light, with a very pleasant aftertaste.” – Véronique Boss-Drouhin
