b'FRANCE |Rhone | Domaine de la Solitude FRANCE |Rhone | Domaine de la SolitudeL a Solitude belongs to one of the oldest families of Chteauneuf-du-Pape, whose roots go back to the 15th century. Today the Estate is managed by Florent Lanon, who represents the eighth generation and contin-ues to uphold the family values. In the 17th century, Hlne BARBERINI, a descendant of the illustrious Tuscan family of the same name, affiliated to Pope Urbain VIII, married Claude MARTIN, owner of a vineyard in Chteauneuf-du-Pape. Their grandson would give a huge boost to La Solitude by creating the first label for the Appellation. Thus, le Vin de la Solitude became a symbol of quality and began to be exported, allowing a great terroir to come into its own.La Solitude comprises 37 Hectares (91.4 acres) in AOC Chateauneuf du Pape, in terroirs of safre and rounded pebbles. The estate begins on the Plateau de la Crau, the high terrasses overlooking the Rhone River and descends into the Valley de la Solitude. The vineyard is tended according to or-ganic farming principles. The grape types reflect the history of Chateauneuf du Pape since the thirteen traditional varietals are grown in the vineyard. Here, in an envi-ronment in which every living thing has a role to play: the wildlife and natural vege-tation, the vines, and the people.22Dreyfus, Ashby & Co. | PORTFOLIOFlorent Lanon | OwnerDreyfus, Ashby & Co. | PORTFOLIO 23'
